Pete’s Dream Campaign

Tax-advantaged giving has never been easier and allows you to support For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation while achieving your financial and philanthropic goals. Under the current tax rules, there are a number of smart giving vehicles which provide significant tax benefits and assist in maximizing your gift’s impact on transforming respite for families facing cancer.

Invest in Therapeutic Impact

Embrace Families in Love

The IRS gives two tax benefits to donors who contribute long-term appreciated securities: a charitable deduction and the reduction or avoidance of capital gains tax on the transfer to For Pete’s Sake.

Transform the Continuum of Care

Donors age 70 1/2 or older can transfer up to $110,000 in 2026 from their IRA directly to For Pete’s Sake without having to recognize the transfer as income. These distributions are tax-free and count toward your minimum distribution.

Host a Parlor Event

You are our best advocate, and we rely on hundreds of volunteers annually to spread the word about the FPS mission. One easy way to do this is to host a small gathering (or a big one if you are so inclined) and introduce our mission to your family, friends, and community.

We put together a step-by-step guide to help you with this, and the FPS office will support your efforts. We are grateful for you sharing your time, talent, treasure, and network so that Pete’s Dream will be a resource for thousands of families annually.
